Assuming that you already know what vector graphics are, then the main thing you need to know about Vectr is that it is a vector graphics editing tool that you can use to create, edit, and share vector graphics. All the editing tools are nicely displayed on Vectr’s dark-themed interface so that you can easily access them and put 'em to good use. Tutorials, user guides, and lessons are available, should you need a helping hand.

Vectr is a cross-platform tool that is available as a desktop application for Windows, Mac, or Linux. Vectr is also available as a WordPress plugin, as a Chromebook application, and as a web app that you can use within your browser. Please note that you will have to sign up for a Vectr account to be able to save your work.

The Quick Look video that accompanies this article shows two things. The greenish thingy at the start, that’s Vectr installing itself on my PC (that’s number one). The bit after that is me completing Vectr’s Getting Started lesson (that’s number two). Several other lessons are available, and they’re accompanied by useful tutorials and user guides. So if you can figure out how to use Vectr on your own, that’s great. But if you can’t, lots of help is readily available.

Vectr features lots of tools: rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipse, pen, pencil, text, and more. You could get started with a blank canvas and use these tools to create something, or you could upload an image and use these tools to edit it. Once you’re done, you can download your work and save it locally, you can print out your creation, and you can easily share your work with others (Vectr creates a link that you can send to anyone who wants to see your work).

Vectr is free and promises to remain free forever.

If you were looking for a free and cross-platform vector graphics editor with a good looking interface that provides easy access to lots of tools, you’ve found it. It’s Vectr!

Pros

Vectr is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, WordPress, Chromebook, and the web. The dark interface looks nice and is very easy to use. Lessons, tutorials, and user guides are available. Vectr is free.

Cons

None that I could think of.
